When
you do a search in Academic Search Elite, the result list
shows you a preview of information about each periodical article.
- The
article description includes some of the information
needed for to write a complete citation
- When
the article is available fulltext, it will be either in HTML
Full Text format (that's "regular print"
on your screen), or PDF Full Text format (that's
"portable document format," which preserves
the original look of the document)
Let's
examine one entry from the results list:

From the
results list, click on the article title to get to the article
citation and a description of its contents. Although you can click
to go to the fulltext file from the results list, by clicking
on the article title first, you get to a screen with more information
about the article itself before you go to the PDF file.

These
are the subject terms assigned. If you click on a subject,
you will retrieve a list of all the items in this database

Brief
summary of the article. This is a good place to find additional
terms about your topic. |

Accession
number (a numbering system internal to EBSCO) |

Standard Serial Number of the periodical |
| Notes |
Indicates
whether or not Cabrillo College Library has a subscription
to the paper copy of this periodical. |
You can
read an article on your computer screen, of course. When you are
researching, you might want to print, save, or email the article.
Here's how you do that:
- Click on the
folder image
to
put the article in a folder. You can put more than one article
in a folder.
- When you are
ready to print, email, or save the article(s), click to
open your folder -- e.g.,

on what you want to do --

and follow directions
