"Information literacy is currently understood as embracing the ability to define a problem, find information to solve the problem, evaluate the information, and use it effectively."

Dane Ward. "The Future of Information Literacy." College & Research Libraries News 62 (2001): 922.

With the increasing complexity of the online environment, finding quality information on any topic means understanding where information comes from, how it is organized, and how to access the information you need. In this class we will focus on the conceptual framework of information, the techniques of information retrieval and the principles of scholarly communication.
